Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy

What is Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy (VRT)? Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy is an exercise-based program that is designed to enhance the central nervous system compensation for inner ear deficits.

VRT is needed when vestibular organs are damaged from diseases or injuries and the brain isn't able to rely on those organs for accurate information about equilibrium and motion. This can lead to vertigo, dizziness, balance problems, and other like symptoms.

The goal for Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy is to retrain to communicate and process information with the vestibular system in coordination with vision and proprioception.

Our trained and educated physical therapists are here for you and we understand the processes to remedy these symptoms. VRT recovery will take time, but you will notice improvements over the course of treatment. Headaches, fatigue, and muscle tension will dissipate and symptoms of dizziness, vertigo, and nausea will decrease or disappear.
