Dr. Mendiola is a San Antonio native. He attended St. Mary's University, pursuing a high-quality education and a basketball career. Though his basketball career was cut short due to significant knee injuries, his education continued with a focus on performance enhancement. He graduated with a major in Exercise and Sports Science and a minor in Biology. He then earned a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from UT Health San Antonio in May 2022, and is currently working towards completing a one-year program to become Certified in Orthopedic Manual Therapy.

Dr. Mendiola has worked in various settings to include home health, in-patient acute care, neurologic settings, and outpatient orthopedics, enjoying the variety of patients he encounters within each setting. The past experience as a physical therapy patient allows him to empathize as he guides each person through their rehabilitation process. He is honored to be a part of such a rewarding profession and is looks forward to a career of continued education.

Dr. Mendiola lives an active lifestyle continuing to play basketball, volleyball, and consistently getting in his workout routines. Like a true south Texan, he enjoys the outdoors, whether it be fishing, hunting, hiking, or barbequing. He also enjoys spending time and exploring new places with his dog, Melo.
